Budgetary Control for Assets

In the business case, the organization wants to implement budgetary control for procurement of fixed assets. They have a budget for every asset category and wants to control the procurement.

According to my understanding, we use a clearing account at the Purchase Order level, so we can not check budget for every category.

Any functionality/workaround on how this control can be implemented?
