Unnecessary secondary book period openings after submission

Hi,

Please guide me for following issue.

Unnecessary secondary book period openings after submission

i. June 3rd is first day of June Period, Closed May
ii. June 3rd received Invoice for May , with invoice date of May 2nd ( which is April in Seconday Books). Now we open in April, Change in May.
iii.  Need -> Some semi-automated process to
1. Book in AP in Primary Books for  May Period).

The requirement is that should select all the unposted journals for the given Period and change the period to Next Period.

Need customization

Please guide which API or Interface should I use to resove this issue.
