US PAY: Issuing a check to "The Estate of" or beneficiary

Currently our procedure for issuing a check to "The Estate of" or beneficiary is being questioned -  I wonder if anyone could point me in the direction of a document that would detail the accepted practice in Oracle?  We run Oracle R12 and pay on a biweekly pay cycle (every other Friday with a Monday to Sunday workweek).  Thanks for any and all responses.
