Single Ledger Multiple Operating Units

Hi,
We have defined multiple operating units under a single ledger. We now want to isolate the two operating units fro m the single ledger and create an independent ledgers. Can u suggest the best way to do it.

Is it possible to just create a new ledger  and associate one of the existing operating unit to the new ledger.
