ASm spfile in 11g R2

Hi,Our's is Production 3 node RAC, 11.2.0.2 , on linux  x-64. we  got ASM process limit reached error on  all 3 nodes. Currently we are using Spfile fro all 3 ASM instances. I increased the value in spfile . on one node, I brought all instances down through srvctl. When I attempted to bring ASM down through srvctl, it didn't let me .. i founf out in Google that in 11gr2 we can't shutdown ASM through srvctl.  Instead I used  crsctl stop crs. ASM came down and when I start crsctl start crs... ASm came up but it is not
