Customizing Translation In SIM

Hi,
This is regd SIM v 12.0.10.13
We need to change the description of the word "ETA" in Japanese language. 

When i update the RK_TRANSLATION_DETAIL.DETAIL_VALUE from back end with the desired text for the japanese language and the desired word(locale)id, key_id) the changes are NOT reflected in the GUI.
Where as if i change the description from the GUI itself, from the Admin->UI Configuration-> Customization Translation window, the changes appear on the GUI.

What else is one supposed to do from the backend to enable this change?
