Data Field Identifier on receiving barcode labels

Hi All,

I wish to get some information on how to use the data field identifiers on receiving bar code labels.

We are in the initial stages of implementing MSCA. As part of that, we wish to standardize the bar code labels from vendors. A practical problem I can foresee while scanning, is the population of wrong data in an oracle data fields e.g the user can have the cursor on qty field and he/she can scan the part no which is again a number. This could lead to error in transactions which is contrary to the concept of using MSCA and scanning devices.
