To hide or to block Purchasing Receiving - GL date field

Hi,there.  I was wondering how to hide or to block end-user 's purchasing receiving GL date field ?  can somebody show me the better way in doing this ?My customer has applied column security but it still able to enter the field...can try row security instead ?
pls advice,

spec:  JDE ver E812  Tool release : 8.98.0.2
