PAY: Oracle HRMS R12 co-existence with Oracle Financials 11.5.10

Hi,
Currently we have an environment where Oracle Financials is on 11.5.0 and Payroll on R12.0
Is there a way both systems can co-exist? 
Financials does want to upgrade from 11.5.10 to R12.

Is there a built in integration that can be leveraged for these 2 systems to co-exist?
