Advantages of using COM and SOM on different instances

The main reasons & advantages to keep the COM and SOM are as follows
a. COM is considered as BSS (Business Support Systems) and SOM is considered as OSS (Operations Support Systems) and there may be two different teams managing them
b. If you have very high volumes of orders, the required performance can be achieved easily and any future growth can be accommodated. Scalability will be easy.
c. If COM and SOM are distributed on separate servers, it facilitates separate maintenance schedules
