Tips - How to set up fixed ports for FR against ESSBASE Datasource when a Firewall is used?

If a firewall is used and only a few ports can be opened then you need to define ports which will be used by the FR studio login and running reports against ESSBASE.

 

1. At first open ports in the firewall

2. Define number of ports less 1 in RMI porte range lower and upper in Mbeans by running FRConfig.cmd.

(FRConfig.cmd or FRConfig.sh is executed under EPMHome\EPMSystem11R1\products\financialreporting\bin folder)

For eg if ports from 53560 to 53565 is opened then define 53560 in RMIPortrangeLower and 53564 RMIPortRangeUpper in Jconsole

3. Edit the ADM.properties file under EPMHome\EPMSystem11R1\common\ADM\11.1.2.0\lib folder.
