bank number and branch number

Hi All ,

We are in process of migrating some bank data from R12 to 11i . We do not find the bank number and branch number being populated on the R12 bank accounts. Can anyone please let me know what is the relevance of these fields ? What are the required fields other than Bank name , account number and branch name for the bank setups in R12 . What is BIC ( Bank information code) ?Is it related to bank number ?.
