Cluster database and dataguard configuration with rman recovery catalog

Hello everyone.
I am configuring a RAC database backup and recovery strategy in conjunction with a dataguard configuration (the instances of the cluster send archives to the dataguard instances).

According to an Oracle Document "Benefits and Usage of RMAN with Standby Databases (Doc ID 602299.1)" provided by one of the fellows here in the support community, if I want to take backups from the production (RAC) database instead of backups from the standby I just have to register one of the production instances with the recovery catalog.

If latter on I change my mind and want to take backups from the standby database I dont have to register it, I just connect accordingly and take backups because the standby is already registered with the recovery catalog from the time I registered the production instance with the recovery catalog.

Howdy, Stranger!
