SLA upgrade questions

Hello,

Our upgrade was completed JUN-11 but we didn't customize the Subledger Accounting Method during the upgrade but we used Standard Accrual. However, Standard Accrual is own by Oracle user so we cannot edit anything in there. So, now we require customizing the standard accrual. What is the process? If we copy and customize, then will we be losing any data? What are the impacts? Thanks
