Work order capitalization through projects

Hi all,

we have a requirement where in  maintenance costs has to be  capitalized for existing fixed  asset through projects. For example a major shout down project cost must be tracked and partial amount of the project cost has to be capitalized to fixed asset associated with the maintainable asset.Asset lines should be created automatically for the  FA associated with the maintainable asset. The current challenge is for the assets created in FA. Projects is not allowing to choose an asset created in FA. Any feedback regarding this scenario is highly appreciated.
