Data Loader not seeing records in file

 We uploaded a contact file for import using data loader. The file contained around 29,000 records (limit is 30,000) but when watching the import in the request queue, it only recognized around 25,000 records in the # submitted field. The missing 4,000 records were not imported and no errors were shown or logged to indicate anything about the missing records. Has anyone seen this before and if so do you have a suggestion? We are opening a ticket with MOS.
