Regarding changing the Production RAC node server model

Hi,

we have a requirement to upgrade the RAC nodes to a higher model ( changing the server model ex: from BL series to DL series ) with same OS and storage .

As the OS image will change as part of the new server replacing old server , what is best possible solutions to minimize risk or downtime.

i can see below option, not sure whether work or not. plan to test this.

Current : 2 RAC nodes with 8 cpu on BL series on redhat os

Planned as per expansion :  3 RAC nodes with 8 CPU on DL series on redhat os

My thining : Adding the 3 RAC nodes to the existing cluster and move the databases to the new servers and remove old 2 nodes from cluster.
