Sweep Program in Receiveables

Hi,

Is there any sweep program in Oracle AR for closing the AR period ?

If no, what is the detailed process that needs to be followed, in case we want to close the period with in a very short duration, assuming we have huge number of transactions with exceptions in Oracle AR.
