User managed recovery - archive logs disk lost

Hi

We have a 9i database (9.2.0.3)
we have a hot(user managed backup) from last night

This afternoon, the server crashed and we lost the drive where archive logs were present

Other drives where the database files, control files, redo logs, temp files were recovered. All the files are intact

We are currently formatting that drive (where Archive logs were) and once done we will create the file structure

Once done, we wont be able to start up the database as it will try to find information from current archive log which
is not going to be there. Correct? If losing the data is not an issue, can we start up the database OR would we need to perform a recovery using last night hot backup?

Howdy, Stranger!
