Time gap between physical Receipt and System receipt

 Dear Experts,

One of my customers is facing a problem in their material receiving department where there is a long gap between entering system receipt in ERP and physical receipt of the material at the subinventory locator.

The customer is using standard oracle inventory receipts (not wms) to receive the material. Most of the purchased goods are standard receipts. The receiving of goods is done at the gate of warehouse, items physically inspected and Receiving transaction entered in the system at the gate itself.  Thus the onhand quantity of the item gets increased in the ERP system. Physically the material is still at the receiving area waiting to be delivered to the subinventory/locator. It takes almost 6-8 hours physically to move the material from gate to the subinventory locator due to various reasons. During this in-transit time,
