Hello everyone,

This post starts our new 'Featured Notes' series in the Network Community, where important Notes are referenced and open to discussion.


This Client / Server Certification Note 207303.1 is one of the single most useful Oracle Notes in existence.
It contains a complete set of interoperability information between all main versions of Oracle Client and Server,
back to version 7.3.4.

If you're thinking of changing or upgrading your Client or Server version, it is ALWAYS strongly recommended
to take a look here first and check if the combination you are thinking of is certified or not.
This is valid for connections like DBlinks too, where the certification needs to go BOTH ways.
