11GR2 asm takes around 10 mins to start in AIX

Hi,
We have configured ASM for standalone 11GR2 database.   the OS is AIX 6.1   .   All the operations are slow.   It take around 10 mins to startup ASM .   Also , queries like
select name, state from v$asm_diskgroup;
  take lot of time .  More than 5 mins.


Can you please suggest how to resolve this issue.  I saw a note: 1453436.1 but the patch is for linux os.
