Date Placed In Service

Hi,

In our set up the date placed in service of the asset is the date in which the mass addition has been created.  This is always in the current period.

What I would like to be able to do is have the date placed in service the same as the invoice date and have the system perform a catch up on depreciation if this is in the past.  Our company uses SAP and Oracle and this method is inconsistent across the 2 systems and we are looking for a way to streamline this.

E.G. If the invoice date is in Jan-13 but this is not processed until May-13 then the date placed in service is May-13 and only 1 month of depreciation is charged.  I would like to see a date in service of Jan-13 and 5 months of depreciation charged.
