MES system requires use of current revision of part.
The new MES system we are implementing by default only allows the current revision of a part to be consumed (used) during the assembly of a finished device. Does not make much sense… but, this is what we are facing at this point. Our practice here is any change to a part causes it to be revised upward ( i.e., B to C), and if it is change to FFF, then we change the part number (Standard CM best practice). BTW - the overwhelming majority of ECO part changes are a “USE” condition for all areas.
But is there a method to have PLM somehow differentiate or track a previous part revision and eliminate it(TAG IT) from use? Even though the part was previously cited as a “USE” condition.
