Financial Plan Types

All,

In reviewing the upgrade advisor and other notes on My Oracle Support, I'm unable to find a document with regards to the best plan for financial plans.  If the customer is on a fresh install, is it better to do the upgrade to financial plans or just create new financial plan types? 

Your thoughts are appreciated.
