Password Expiration and Web Services

I have a password expiration policy of 30 days and my integration process has its own ID called INTEG that it uses to log into CRMOD via web services. 
I notice I did not have to change password for INTEG for a while now, more than 30 days.  Then I heard that the password policy only applies to users who actually log into CRMOD manually. 

Since INTEG uses web services then the password policy does not apply to it so that's why I did not have to change its password.

Is that true?
