Calculate Resource Usage based on Resource Trx Start and End Dates

Does anyone know of a feature on OPM Process Execution where the resource usage on the route step is automatically calculated based on the date/time of the resource start date, and date/time of the resource end date.  I am being told by a colleauge that Oracle Development had informed him that this was how it was suppose to work; however I have never seen any configuration or documented information on how to enable this feature.  If OPM has such a feature and anyone has information on how to configure it I would greatly appreciate the help.  If you believe my co-worker was misinformed and that feature
