One of my long time users indicated that they used to have the option to "send" a sales order in entered status to another CSR. For example, if we had one waiting to hear back from the customer or our A/R group, and the CSR that created the order was going to be out of the office, they could "send" or maybe re-assign their open/entered orders to another CSR so they would have visibility.
We are currently on 11i, in process of upgrading to R12. They are telling me this was available in the previous version, which for us I believe was 10.7.
