Default send mail setting in OEL6.2

Hello,

I am new on Linux. Now I want to setup mail host in OEL 6.2. In Solaris, default is using sendmail and mailhost in /etc/hosts. But in OEL 6.2, what is the default send mail service (sendmail or postfix) and setting? Where to set this? Where to send outgoing email? Determined by the MX entry in DNS server? Please advise.
