R12 FA purge impacting ending balances. Is this normal ?

We are running the standard Oracle FA purge in R12 which deletes the depreciation details and summary as well as adjustments. It is my understanding that the startign and ending balances should remain untouched as those fields come from other tables instead of being calculated. This is what we saw in ii1, but now in R12 things are diffrent. Has anyone ran the FA purge in their production env ? If so are there any lessons learned or things to look out for ?Thank you in advance
