Upgrading to R12 from 11i - Data migration/Data Conversion Strategy

All,We are upgrading to R12 from 11i and would like to know what are the industry best practices to migrate/convert data. I'm mainly looking for Receivables, Collections financial data and reporting
Any case study/Metalink note will be of great help.
