Asset Impairments in r 12.0.6

Hi
Our user wants to carry out and reverse some Fixed Asset Impairments and he has found that the reversals don't work properly.  He has been reading the 12.1 manual and our version of Oracle is 12.0.6. 

I've looked at the 12.0.06 Oracle manual about Asset Impairments and there doesn't seem much info on the subject.  Either the Oracle manual I'm looking at for 12.06 is out of date or the function is a lot more enhanced in r12.1.  Can you advise as it may be a case our users wants to carry out functionality that is not available in our release of Oracle 12.06
