New to Oracle Spatial

Our GIS has been using SQL server all the time. They wonder if Oracle database provide spatial features like SQL server does, such as the geometry data type which stores the x, y coordinates.

Can someone let me know the if 11g R1 contains spatial features? If yes, does it require separated license to use it?
