Need guidance on ASM diskgroup location for controlfiles

edited Aug 15, 2013 7:51AM in Database Administration (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered
we have the following diskgroups for redologs
REDO1A, REDO1B

REDO2A, REDO2B

REDO3A, REDO3B

REDO4A, REDO4B

REDO5A, REDO5B
.  Each of the Redo LUNs have geometry that is designed for up to 200 i/ops.  Redo1A  is averaging well over 1000 i/ops and Redo1B  is averaging about 300 i/ops

The only thing on RED01A and RED01B which is different from the other REDO’s is the controlfiles
of all the databases

Question
Do we have to have seperate diskgroups for the controlfile with higer i/ops - we need some additional information on this

Howdy, Stranger!
