Can I reuse an mvc's volser from a tape that hasnt been used on a brand new tape?

I have a question regarding new tapes and labeling/defining?

We are going to purchase some new 75gb  9840D tapes to replenish our tape bullpen.   We have one mvcpool and all our mvcs begin with the chars “A0”.

 

We have just found that some of our A0* empty mvcs  in our bullpen rack are “20gb” tapes and we use exclusively 75gb tapes, so we’ll likely just toss the 20gb tapes or at least put them in a box marked “do not use”.  

Lets say for sake of argument that these useless 200 20gb mvcs have the volsers
