Difference between Mask and Encrypt Supplier Bank Accounts in Oracle R12?

Hi,

Can an expert what is the difference between masking and encryption of Supplier Bank Accounts in Oracle AP?

What we want to do is to 'mask' the supplier Bank Accounts so the full account number is not visible to all users that have access to the supplier Bank Details.

But when we setup the system security options it says that the Encryption Request Set needs to be submitted.

Is this necessary for us? what is that this process will do to the Supplier Bank Accounts?

We could already mask the Supplier Bank Accounts running the 'Mask Sensitive Data Request Set'
