Service Item in BOM Model

Hi All,

I am confused with multiple notes on this subject. One says not to include service items in Model's BOM as it will cause issues in OM. The bug logged suggest to add the service item as a seperate line on the order. (See note Unable To Add PTO Model With Service Item As An Option (Doc ID 1296751.1)) However another note says it is possible to add service items to the Models BOM and also gives the script (Flow for internally manufactured ATO Configurations into Install Base and Contracts (Doc ID 245548.1)).

Can someone clarify if we can add service item as part of ATO model or not? This is to create warranty contracts from OM for configured items being shipped.
