Is Kerberos-SSO possible for Essbase 11.1.2 using the Essbase C API or the Essbase Java API?

If possible, must I be on the web or is it possible to use Kerberos from a desktop app running Windows?

The scenario is that the application (which currently is a windows dektop application) needs to login to Essbase without prompting for user name /password or use a proxy user (you should log in to Essbase as yourself).

When searching the web I've found old references saying this is not possible but it seems not to be clear with repect to newer versions of Essbase.
