Failed Login Attempts

Good afternoon I’m currently running Solaris 10 and I’m trying to turn on the “loginlog” for logging failed login attempts so far, I’ve tried the following steps below and tried logging in multiple times with the incorrect password and nothing appears that nothing is being logged in the “/var/adm/loginlog”.

1.       Changed the “syslog_failed_logins=5” to 0

2.       touch /var/adm/loginlog.

3.       chown root /var/adm/loginlog.

4.       chgrp sys /var/adm/loginlog.

5.       chmod 700 /var/adm/loginlog.
