When is superadmin invoked ?

Currently on Agile 9.3.0.1, I have a Change Request that was seemingly automatically closed by superadmin (per the workflow history) for no apparent reason?  I thought that the change request was tied to a project that had a rule which automatically closed the request but cannot find any such rule.  Can anyone explain the scenarios when the superadmin role is invoked in Agile?
