We lost rman password

Hi Gurus:
I am new in this company and when I ask them (IT Team) about the rman password they answer me that nobody haven't this information because the last DBA forgot to give them

Currently they have configured RMAN backups, but for the moment they had the need to use the RMAN user.

Question Gurus, can I change the password of this user without affecting the current configuration of RMAN backups.

If this thing is not easy please could you give me the procedure or steps in order to change this password?
