Big file tablespace

Hi,

I am working on a project to upgrade a system to use Oracle 11g (64bits) on a Windows 2008R2 server, and I have come across a discussion that needs to make, and hope someone could share experiences on this.

I need to create a tablespace that holds 60G in size of data.  Creating it in the script has given me an error.  So, after researching, my option is to go either two datafiles, or using what is called Big file tablespace.  I wonder if in terms of pros and cons, what are their differences from a performance and backup point of view.  I have not used big file tablespace in the past , am just a little concerns if I will make the right choice.  Thank you for your assistance.
