purging operation taking too much time

We are doing purging operation(Delete operation), there are many tables involved in this purge operation and that is handle by separate application. that is hard coded so I can not able to see the code. and the same application running on other server but its not taking much time.. so i need to find out why on this server, it is taking more time and suggest appropriate action to team. data size is different on both server.
Currently operation is running on server. what should i check to get know that, why it is taking time?
