Canceling Deffered Invoices Causes the Reversal to be Posted in the Last Distribution Period
Hello! We are having an issue in Payables around canceling an invoice with future distributions and how the cancellation and reversal is processed.
The issue here is not that they are reversing the amounts in the next available open period but are using the last distribution date as the period in which to place the credit.
Here is the example:
Invoice XYZ for $1,200 is entered in FEB-13 with current and future distributions as follows:
10—FEB-13……..$100
10—MAR-13……..$100
10—APR-13……..$100
10—MAY-13……..$100
10—JUN-13……..$100
10—JUL-13……..$100
10—AUG-13……..$100
10—SEP-13……..$100
10—OCT-13……..$100
10—NOV-13……..$100
10—DEC-13……..$100
10—JAN-14……..$100
Invoice is canceled in April 2013 with March and February periods closed. We would expect the credits to look as follows:
