EXPDP slowness

we are tryin to perform EXPDP on a table with CLOB column. This expdp is being performed with the use of parallel=8 and %U.dmp in the dump file name, But the process is not using the parallel and runnin for hours...

Is there any parameter settin that we need to validate for the expdp to use parallel as listed in the parfile?

For impdp we had similar issue where impdp was not runnin in parallel though was mentioned to use in via parfile and then had the DATAPUMP_IMP_FULL_DATABASE role granted after which the impdp started usin the paralle.
