Ensuring backup of all EC infrastructure

Hi, I was recently talking to one of the support guys who made me aware of some backup procedures which I wasnt aware of before, specifically stopping the agents on CDOMS before backup and restarting after.  Including this step I will list all the different bit and pieces that I *think* you need to backup for a full DR recovery situation. 
Please let me know If I have missed or misunderstood anything.

1) ecadm backup - on EC to backup the database.  Does this also backup a colocatted proxy?  Assume the EC has to be up for this to run?  Does the proxy (colocatted or not) need shutdown for the duration of this backup?
