Patching to Inactive BE

Hi,

I want to  apply recommended patchset to Solaris 10 OS, f additional I have two separate patches and packages.

So before applying Patchset can I apply two patches and pakeg to Inactive BE, If yes I will be thankful if process proved.

Or there is the only way to Boot from New BE and then apply single patch and Packages.
