What is the use of Dispatch Account??

Dear All,
We have configured the OM module with inventory and purchasing. And for the OM Module we are just using the Internal Sales Order just to issue the items from the Inventory.

While defining the setup of OM Module we found the Goods Dispatched Account in the Shipping parameters which is not mandatory, can you guide us that why this account is used and where ??
