Why this secrecy?

Gentlepeople,

Numerous times I have filed SRs, only to be told that "This is a know problem" or "This has already been filed as an RFE", but each time the referenced Bug ID/ RFE ID has been unpublished.

Also, following the threads in this forum, anytime anything interesting comes up, the thread starter is asked to open a SR. The result from that SR is never published back to this forum. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of a community forum?

In my opinion, life would be so much easier, both for the Oracle Support persons, and the community members, if the findings/solutions from the SRs, and also the list of known bugs and RFEs, were published and searchable in MOS.
