Behaviour of non-serialized items

Hi All,

I needed some clarity on the behaviour of non-serialised items in install base/contracts/depot repair.

Here's a little background to it:

1) The item is non-serialised, it is IB trackable and service request enabled and has a warranty associated with it. (Warranty Duration 01-Apr-2013 to 31-Mar-2014)

2) A service request gets created on this item for repair through depot repair. (Service Request created on 31-Aug-2013)

3) As per the Doc ID 1083755.1 on oracle support site, the warranty should get terminated as the item instance associated to this item will get expired when they're return for repair.

Wanted some clarity on the following points:
